Description
The primary purpose of this position is to lead the operational accounting 
function of the Steel Group, which includes 3 plants. It is responsible for the 
financial activities performed by the Plant Controllers and to manage the cost 
accounting function. This individual will provide financial leadership to VP 
Manufacturing as well as coordinating with all other stakeholders.  They will 
drive the proactive management of actual and forecasted financial 
performance; actively engage and influence the Manufacturing teams to 
achieve strategic and operational goals and tactics (capital, inventory and 
people) as well as quantify risks and opportunities.  A successful candidate will 
integrate financial activities across the manufacturing organization and ensure 
coordination with other financial functions; standardize processes and ensure 
the efficient consolidation of operational information; and oversee financial 
reporting, policy implementation and the control environment for the Plant 
Controllers and Project Managers.
 
 Primary results this position is accountable for include:
•Ensure organizational effectiveness.  Actively manage associate performance 
and development. Drive alignment between key job requirements of staff and 
associate's skills and abilities.  Assess leadership potential and create solid 
succession plans.  Ensure critical skills are developed or acquired.
•Direct and oversee the maintenance, modification and improvements in the 
Steel Job Costing System to ensure the system generates timely and accurate 
product/activity costs; keep pace with changes in key inputs, drivers, leading 
indicators and system changes.
•Provide decision support to manufacturing team, business segments, new 
business development, capital projects and other areas as deemed necessary by 
the Steel Group.
•Ensure compliance to SOX.
•Provide comprehensive analysis of actual and forecasted operational 
performance to the manufacturing team and Steel Group; ensure strong linkage 
into the group forecasting process.
•Implement business processes, controls and systems that support achievement 
of manufacturing goals with a high level of confidence, integrity and ethics. 
Focus on operating results and continuous improvement efforts.
•Monitoring progress of Group operational performance as it relates to 
Operating Plans and Manufacturing competitiveness; identify, quantify and 
communicate risks & opportunities.
•Transform and interpret financial analysis of manufacturing performance into
actionable tactics to enhance customer service, facilitate differentiated growth 
and profitability as well as achievement of operating plans.

Requirements:
•Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting with at least 8 years of experience.
•Progressive accounting positions, including management, in an operations/ 
manufacturing environment.
•Experience translating business performance into financial results.

Desired:
•Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting.   
•CPA
•CMA 5 - 10 years.
•ERP experience, preferably SAP.
•Experience in an Activity Based Costing system
•Responsibility of multiple manufacturing sites
•Process Industry experience
