Operations Cost Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY
Key financial resource for production and distribution operations.  Individual will 
partner with the operations team to support analysis and control, with a key 
role in cost reduction and productivity improvement.  Work closely with 
corporate accounting team to provide analysis and reporting to understand 
operational performance and support financial compliance requirements.
  
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
•	Business partner with operations team to help identify and drive cost 
reductions
•	Prepare financial analysis to validate business decisions and guide 
operations team
•	Analyze standard costs, perform and review cost changes including semi-
annual cost updates, labor and overhead rate changes, as well as any other 
production-related changes
•	Review, analyze and report costing, inventory and production variances
•	Troubleshoot inventory and material issues 
•	Provide accounting direction to ensure information flow and oversight
•	Lead operations forecasting and planning activities
•	Complete special projects as assigned by Director of Operations and 
Corporate management
•	Responsible for developing and maintaining sound control procedures at 
the site, including: 
o	Inventory controls and procedures (Cycle Counting, E&O analysis) 
o	Fixed assets, including physical inventory and tagging 
o	Revenue recognition 
o	GAAP and SOX compliance 

SKILLS REQUIRED
•	Process driven/continuous improvement focus

•	Team player with solid business sense
•	Strong work ethic/deadline focused
•	Strong adaptability/time management skills
•	Experienced ERP user (SAP preferred)
•	Advanced Excel/experienced Access user
•	Solid understanding of GAAP principles
•	Proactive with desire to assume additional responsibilities	

TRAINING / EDUCATION REQUIRED
•	SAP and Microsoft Office
•	Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
•	CPA, CMA or MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
